We’re always monitoring our approach to providing ICM Learners with fair and accessible assessments. Recently, ICM have undertaken a review of the command words used throughout our examinations, to ensure these words are clear and fit for purpose. Command words such as ‘Explain’, ‘Calculate’ or ‘Discuss’ are used consistently throughout assessments at all qualification levels, in order to instruct Candidates how to answer each question.
As a result of this review, ICM have reduced the number of different command words which are used across our question papers, and updated the guidance on how and when each word is used.
